Senior IT System Administrator
The Senior IT System Administrator is responsible for support designing, implementing, administering, and maintaining the UTE's server, storage, and virtualization infrastructure. This role ensures high availability, security, performance, and reliability of Linux (Ubuntu, Red Hat) and Windows Server environments while supporting business-critical applications and IT services.
Responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's server and storage infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. Oversees system administration, backup and disaster recovery, virtualization, infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and supports the implementation of scalable IT solutions.
What you'll do
- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Windows/Windows Server environments to support operation.
- Manage enterprise storage systems, including storage provisioning, capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Monitor server performance, availability, and system health to ensure optimal operation.
- Perform server patching, upgrades, security hardening, and vulnerability remediation.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server services.
- Configure and maintain Linux services, user management, permissions, networking, and system security.
- Administer virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or Proxmox).
- Implement backup and recovery solutions and regularly test disaster recovery procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex server, storage, networking, and operating system issues.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and infrastructure diagrams.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and application teams to ensure secure and reliable IT operations (Install configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printer scanners... etc).
- Participate in infrastructure planning, capacity management, and technology improvement initiatives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff.
What we're looking for
- BSc or MSc in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experiences:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure management.
- Hands-on experience managing enterprise Linux (Ubuntu and Red Hat) and Windows Server environments.
- Experience with enterprise storage solutions and virtualization platforms.
- Technical Skills and Strong knowledges:

- Shell scripting (Bash) and PowerShell
- TCP/IP networking and firewall fundamentals
- High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
